Nirvana

My goodness, I love Kurt Cobain's voice it's so emotional and unique. I’m currently listening to the MTV unplugged album and I can't help but think that what if Kurt Cobain was still alive and he did a side project as a solo artist how amazing it would be.

The reason why I thought it would be a good idea to start with Nirvana is for what they stand for and what they represent which is basically the fundamentals of self-isolation. They are from a time when it was cool to lock yourself away in your room isolating yourself from the rest of the household, a time when every teenager would grab their CD walkman, wear baggy jeans with a flannel chequered shirt, go down the woods and just sit and listen to Nirvana and get away from the world. Think about it your a rebellious grunge kid and you have no care in the world that's what Nirvana was and that's what people could relate to when they heard them.

The unplugged session in my mind really shows off what a great musician and songwriter Kurt is. The realness of his lyrics and emotion of the way he plays the guitar is amazing and you can tell each word has come from the certain pains that he endured growing up, but I guess that is what make all talented songwriters so good they always use historical experiences as inspiration to the songwriting and couldn't be more clear when talking about Nirvana. I see this album as timeless especially for a live album and this is why I keep going back to it.
